ACTION CORPORATION LAUNCHES "GUESTSERVE HOTEL EDITION" ONLINE RESERVATION PLATFORM
WELLAND, Ontario, May 16, 2002 - ACTION Corporation has entered the Hotel reservation industry by rolling out its newest GuestServe platform.
The GuestServe Hotel edition, a web-based "processing" of e-commerce transactions, is the fourth service platform released by ACTION Corporation since its inception last year, says ACTION President Paul Tomori.
"In this vertical market of online bookings for hotels, ACTION has found and filled a void for Niagara-based hotels that have yet to cross over to taking their own online reservations," said Tomori.
GuestServe operates on a purely web-based model known as Application Service Providing (ASP). That is, hotel management logs in through an administrative screen to manage their rates and availability while guests log in through a hotel's front-end website in order to check availability and rates for a desired duration.
New reservations are handled by an online hopper, a concept unique to ACTION Corporation for managing online sales. The entire system is self-manageable by hotels and requires no ongoing tech support or assistance from ACTION. This new service requires no software installation and no special hardware.
"Initial rollouts of the service are proving to live up to its claims and it begins our foray into the ASP model," said Tomori, adding it is ACTION's intention to diversify the GuestServe product to other areas of the hospitality industry.
